PM Shehbaz Sharif Congratulates Nation on Record Remittance Growth, Expresses Gratitude to Overseas Pakistanis

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the nation on the record increase in remittances and expressed gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for their continued support. In a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s House, he acknowledged the significant contribution of Pakistanis abroad, particularly for sending $2.9 billion in remittances in November 2024.

The Prime Minister highlighted that remittances in November 2024 saw a 29% increase compared to the same month last year, reflecting the trust overseas Pakistanis have in the government’s policies. He also noted that in the first five months of the current fiscal year, remittances have surged by 33.6%, reaching $14.8 billion, a positive development that is expected to bring beneficial outcomes for the economy.

PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government’s economic team’s efforts, with the blessing of Allah, are showing results, leading to increased investment from abroad, a significant reduction in inflation, and economic stability. He attributed these successes to the government’s effective economic management.

The Prime Minister reiterated that overseas Pakistanis are not only the country’s pride but also its ambassadors on the global stage. He assured that addressing the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis remains a top priority for the government. “Our overseas Pakistanis are a valuable asset, and they are making Pakistan proud across the world with their skills and contributions,” he said.
