Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari have strongly condemned the attack on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally.
In a statement issued from the PM House, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that all forms of violence in politics are condemnable. He expressed deep sympathy and good wishes for the Trump family during this difficult time. The Prime Minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of the former US President and others injured in the attack.
The President of Pakistan remarked that the news of the attack on the former US President has caused deep shock. He emphasized that there is no place for violence in politics. President Zardari also extended good wishes for the quick recovery of Donald Trump.
It should be noted that Donald Trump was injured during an election rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where shots were fired. The assailant responsible for the attack was also reportedly killed. Donald Trump, a Republican leader, was addressing supporters and was expected to announce his vice presidential candidate.
