Lahore: The Oil Marketing Association has penned a letter to the Prime Minister highlighting the dire straits of the petroleum industry in the country. Chairman of the Association, Tariq Wazir Ali, appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to intervene urgently to rescue the petroleum industry from losses amounting to 26 billion rupees due to foreign exchange issues.
In the letter, it was noted that despite bearing substantial financial burdens related to foreign exchange losses, oil companies continue to suffer. The Ministry of Petroleum’s efforts to address these issues have been ineffective, exacerbated by delays in the Prime Minister’s office in addressing the matter.
Tariq Wazir Ali emphasized that the petroleum industry is on the brink of collapse due to prolonged delays by the Ministry of Petroleum. Urging special attention from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he called for immediate resolution of the crisis.
