Petition Filed in Islamabad High Court for Contempt of Court Over Non-Implementation of Larger Bench’s Decision Regarding PTI Founder’s Meetings

Islamabad:A petition for contempt of court has been filed in the Islamabad High Court over the non-implementation of the larger bench’s decision regarding meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan. The petition was submitted by Salman Akram Raja, Shoaib Shaheen, and others, on behalf of Senate Opposition Leader and PTI leader, Shibli Faraz.

The petition names the Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of the Punjab Home Department, and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail as respondents. The petitioners argue that on March 24, a larger bench of the court ordered that Imran Khan be allowed to meet every Tuesday and Thursday. However, the petition states that jail authorities have failed to comply with this decision.

The petitioners have requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the jail authorities and others involved in not executing the court’s order. The case highlights ongoing legal tensions over Imran Khan’s detention and his access to meetings as per court orders.
