Pete Hegseth Sworn in as U.S. Secretary of Defense

Washington:Former TV host and political analyst Pete Hegseth has officially taken over the role of U.S. Secretary of Defense. According to foreign media reports, after receiving confirmation from the U.S. Senate, Hegseth took the oath of office as the new Defense Secretary.

The report mentioned that Hegseth faced intense questioning in the Senate over various allegations, with three Republican Senators also opposing his confirmation. The vote ended in a 50-50 tie, but Vice President J.D. Vance cast the deciding vote in favor, thus confirming Hegseth’s appointment.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Pete Hegseth conveyed a message stating that he would prioritize the interests of the United States.

Notably, the 44-year-old Hegseth was previously known for his role as an aggressive TV host and political analyst before entering politics.
