Peshawar:The Peshawar High Court has announced that it cannot consider the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s request for a judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents.
In a letter addressed to the Advocate General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court stated that the current form of the request violates the KP Government Rules of Business 1985, which prevents the court from reviewing the request.
The Advocate General of KP had previously written to the Registrar of the Peshawar High Court seeking the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9. The request included a plea for the appointment of judicial officers to oversee the inquiry.
The court’s decision underscores procedural issues and compliance with legal frameworks as key factors in the handling of such requests.
