Peshawar:Security sources have reported that during the past year in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 297 militants affiliated with the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in 640 intelligence-based operations.
According to security sources, these operations resulted in the seizure of 510 hand grenades, 217 mortars, 34 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and 11,497 SMG rounds, among other weapons.
Security sources further revealed that during the past year, militants were eliminated in 13 districts of the province. In January, 41 militants were killed, followed by 55 in February, and 52 in March. Similarly, 55 militants were killed in both April and May, while 39 were eliminated last month.
The highest number of militant casualties was reported in North Waziristan with 112, followed by 46 in Dera Ismail Khan, 32 in Tank, 30 in Lucky Marwat, 24 in Khyber, and 18 in South Waziristan.
In tribal district Bajaur, 10 militants were killed, while 7 each were reported in Peshawar and Bannu. Moreover, 3 militants each were eliminated in Kurram, Kohat, and Swat, while 2 militants were killed in Mardan.
These operations reflect ongoing efforts by security forces to combat militancy and maintain peace in the region.
