Quetta:In a statement issued from the central secretariat of the Pashtunkhwa Awami Party, Quetta the nine-month-long historic sit-in at Chamman has been praised for its exemplary perseverance, steadfastness, sacrifices, and endurance amidst hardships, imprisonment, and difficulties faced by its participants and the community. The protest, organized by the Pashtunkhwa Awami Party, the Chamman Committee, the public, and sit-in participants, has garnered congratulations from political parties for its unwavering commitment to constitutional, legal, and humanitarian demands.
The statement acknowledges the pivotal role played by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, central leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam; Barrister Gohar Khan, Chairman of the PTI; former Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser; Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan; Akhoonzada Hussain Yousafzai; Central Vice President of the BNP, Sajid Tareen Advocate; and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, Head of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Sahibzada Hameed Raza, Head of Sunni Ittehad Council, and leaders of the Haqooq-e-Tahaffuz Movement, including Provincial Assembly Member Maulana Hidayat Rahman, and other political democratic leaders who have been thanked for their special contribution, who not only participated in the Chamman sit-in but also raised their voices for the brave people of Chamman in national and provincial assemblies.
The statement further states that due to the prolonged nine-month sit-in, the historic recognition of identity cards and memoranda issued for commerce and trade has finally been restored. The restoration of identity cards and memoranda on the Chamman route will facilitate the arrival and departure of the people, human, and commercial activities, and the agricultural lands of their ancestors, and commercial markets. The statement said that the demands of Chamman have been put before the government and the people in the national and provincial assemblies, every form of government, and political parties, and journalists, printed and electronic media.
