Parul Gulati Stuns at Cannes Film Festival with Bold Hair-Extension Couture Dress

Cannes:Actress and businesswoman Parul Gulati made a striking statement on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, where she debuted a dress unlike anything seen before. The dress, crafted entirely from black human hair extensions, turned heads and left everyone in awe.
Parul wore the bold creation at the screening of *Eddington* on May 16, turning what could have been a simple appearance into a fashion statement that paid tribute to her own hair wig and extension brand, *Nish Hair*. The outfit featured an asymmetrical hemline with a deep sweetheart neckline, skillfully woven with hair extensions that clung to her body, creating a body-hugging silhouette. The extensions flowed downwards in a dramatic fringe, adding a powerful visual element to the look.
The design was Parul’s own idea, brought to life with the help of renowned stylist Mohit Rai and designer Riddhi Bansal. The creation took more than a month to complete, with a dedicated team of 12 artisans working meticulously to perfect the intricate details. This wasn’t just a fashion statement; it was a showcase of craftsmanship, innovation, and vision.
In keeping with the minimalistic elegance of her look, Parul chose to keep her accessories simple, wearing only statement earrings and leaving the neckline bare. Her hair was styled in a simple bun, and her makeup was kept light and natural, ensuring the focus remained on the groundbreaking dress.
Before attending the festival, Parul shared her thoughts, saying, “I wanted to celebrate this moment with joy, not pressure. I wanted to wear something that truly represents me, something that people would look at and say, ‘This is something only Parul Gulati could wear.’ That’s why I decided to incorporate my brand’s hair into the dress.”
Interestingly, hair-crafted couture is becoming a growing trend in the global fashion industry. A notable example is Schiaparelli’s hair-neck tie design, which was also praised by Karan Johar, signaling that this bold use of hair in fashion is now gaining significant traction.
