Paris Olympics: Arshad Nadeem’s Historic Gold Medal Leads to a Shower of Awards and Recognitions

Islamabad: Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable achievement in winning the gold medal in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics has led to an outpouring of awards and accolades. His success has also significantly boosted his following on social media.
Several prominent figures, including the Pakistani government, provincial administrations, and celebrities, have announced various rewards for Nadeem. Additionally, numerous sponsors are eager to collaborate with the Olympic champion.
Details of the Awards for Arshad Nadeem:
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has announced a reward of $50,000 for gold medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Punjab government has declared a reward of PKR 100 million (10 crore) and plans to build a sports city named after Nadeem.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has announced a prize of PKR 2 million (20 lakh) and an invitation to the Governor’s House.
The Sindh government has pledged PKR 50 million (5 crore) and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced the establishment of a sports academy in Karachi named after Nadeem.
The Mayor of Sukkur has declared that Nadeem will be honored with a golden crown.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has also announced PKR 2 million (20 lakh) for Nadeem.
Renowned singer Ali Zafar has promised PKR 1 million (10 lakh) through his foundation as a reward.
The Karachi Press Club will grant honorary membership to Nadeem.
Private TV channel owner Salman Iqbal has offered an apartment, cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has pledged PKR 1 million (10 lakh), another TV channel has also offered PKR 1 million (10 lakh), and Pakistan Gas and Oil has promised free fuel for life.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan’s last Olympic medal was a bronze in hockey on August 8, 1992, while their last gold was also in hockey in 1984.
