Pakistan’s IT Exports Surge by 24% to Reach $3.223 Billion in FY 2023-2024

Islamabad:Pakistan’s IT exports have witnessed a remarkable 24% growth, reaching a new milestone of $3.223 billion in the financial year 2023-2024. This significant achievement is a result of the strategic efforts by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which has played a key role in positioning Pakistan prominently in the global IT market.

The country has also seen tremendous growth in broadband connectivity, with the number of subscribers surpassing 139 million. Around 4.1 million individuals have benefited from broadband expansion, contributing to the enhancement of both the economy and education through high-speed internet.

Under the ‘Digital Skills’ program, 600,000 people have been trained, while 166 startups have emerged, leading to over 5,000 new jobs and an investment of 260 million rupees. Pakistan is also preparing for 5G implementation, with the introduction of Wi-Fi 6E and the National Space Policy to foster modern connectivity.

Additionally, the “Hajj App” and the “One Patient, One ID” system have been introduced to provide citizens with modern services. The ‘Cloud First Policy’ has been implemented across various provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, while national AI and semiconductor policies have paved the way for advancements in modern technology.

To further promote the digital economy, the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP) is actively underway. With the support of SIFC, Pakistan is continuing its journey towards a stable, integrated, secure, and modern digital economy.
