Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Questions PTI’s Protest Timing During International Visits

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has raised concerns over the timing of protests called by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), questioning why the party chooses to stage demonstrations when important international figures are visiting the country.
In a statement addressing the current political situation, Dar asked whether the political protests were part of a deliberate strategy or a game to undermine the country’s dignity and standing on the global stage. He pointed out that PTI frequently calls for protests on days when major international dignitaries are scheduled to arrive, citing the upcoming visit of Belarusian President and the arrival of Chinese Prime Minister’s delegation on October 14 as recent examples.
“Whether it’s the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister, heads of states arriving for the SCO Summit, or the visit of the Belarusian President with key ministers and business figures, PTI seems to time its protests in parallel,” Dar said, implying a coordinated effort to disrupt key international engagements.
His remarks come as PTI has once again announced a protest for the day the Belarusian delegation arrives in Islamabad, raising questions about the party’s motives during crucial diplomatic visits.
