Islamabad:The Constitution Protection Movement of Pakistan has announced a series of seminars across the country on August 14 to advocate for the supremacy of democracy and constitutional integrity. Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the movement, emphasized that efforts to strengthen parliamentary sovereignty and democracy will continue.
During a press conference held after the movement’s meeting on Friday, PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub Khan revealed that on August 13, PTI-affiliated youth will take to the streets nationwide carrying the Pakistani flag. On August 14, seminars will be held throughout the country focusing on the constitution and democracy.
Achakzai highlighted that this alliance is neither against any individual nor in opposition to any specific faction. He underscored that while the Army Chief and judges hold significant positions, the Parliament and Pakistan itself are of paramount importance. He urged all citizens to join in guiding the country towards progress, asserting that true freedom in Pakistan has yet to be realized after 75 years.
He further called for collective effort to overcome the nation’s crises and ensure genuine freedom. Barrister Gohar Khan stated that the Supreme Court’s decisions are in line with the constitution and law, and stressed the need for acceptance of these rulings.
In a separate address to the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai welcomed the Saudi Arabian ambassador and his delegation, including the Imam of the Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He praised the efforts of Crown Prince Salman to bridge gaps between Saudi Arabia and Iran, acknowledging this as a significant contribution to the Islamic world. He noted that while Pakistan faces numerous challenges, many other Islamic nations are also grappling with severe difficulties.
