Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Meet Today for Shawwal Moon Sighting

Islamabad:The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan will hold a crucial meeting today to sight the Shawwal moon, marking the potential announcement of Eid ul-Fitr. The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the committee’s chairman, while provincial committees will convene in their respective regions.

According to Pakistan’s space agency, *SUPARCO*, the Shawwal moon was formed on the previous day at 3:58 PM PST. By sunset on Sunday, the moon will have an age of around 27 hours, making it highly likely that the moon will be sighted in Pakistan today.

Additionally, the Bohra community in Pakistan will celebrate Eid today, and the leader of the Awami National Party, Aimal Wali Khan, has also announced that his party will observe Eid today.

Meanwhile, several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, are celebrating Eid ul-Fitr today, while in the UK, Canada, and several European countries, Eid is expected to be observed on March 31.
