Islamabad:Rana Sanaullah, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Political Affairs and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, has expressed support for the Pakistan Army’s actions against General (R) Faiz Hameed. Sanaullah believes that the military’s decision to take Hameed into custody will enhance the respect and honor of the institution.
In a private television interview, Sanaullah stated that the army’s move to detain Faiz Hameed suggests that substantial evidence must have been established. He emphasized that Hameed’s court-martial proceedings will follow a formal procedure, with particular attention to his involvement in the Faizabad sit-in, where Hameed’s signature was reportedly on the agreement to manage the protestors.
Sanaullah also pointed out that the current inquiry is focused on a housing society matter, but it is crucial to remain within the scope of this investigation. He advised that further inquiries into other issues related to Faiz Hameed, beyond the housing society case, may reveal additional details.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced today that former DG ISI Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed has been taken into custody and court-martial proceedings have commenced.
