Quetta:Fatima Nazar, Advocate and President of Pakistan Young Lawyers Forum, emphasized the pivotal role of judiciary in the state while expressing concerns over dwindling public confidence in the system. Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, she highlighted delays in dispensing justice as a major reason for the eroding trust. Nazar cited a World Justice Project report ranking Pakistan at 130 out of 142 countries in delivering justice post surveys. In response, she announced the launch of a Judicial Reform Forum under the Pakistan Young Lawyers Forum, aimed at proposing and advocating measures to enhance the judicial system. The forum’s objectives include recommending reforms, ensuring implementation of existing laws, organizing annual mentorship programs for new lawyers, providing free legal aid to vulnerable groups, and supporting prisoners unfairly incarcerated due to minor offenses. Nazar stressed the apolitical and humanitarian nature of the initiative, pledging to adhere to the guidelines of the Pakistan Bar Council and provincial bar councils, and maintaining impartiality in all activities.
