Pakistani Federal Minister Celebrates Independence Day by Distributing Free Petrol to Thousands of Motorcyclists and Rickshaws
Islamabad:In a unique Independence Day celebration, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh distributed free petrol to over 10,000 motorcyclists and announced a similar offer for more than 5,000 rickshaws.
Sheikh, a member of the National Assembly from Chiniot, had earlier promised that anyone arriving at his camp on Independence Day with a Pakistani flag on their motorcycle would receive 5 liters of petrol for free. On August 15, from 9 AM to 8 PM, the Federal Minister personally ensured the distribution of petrol to thousands of motorcyclists and announced that the same offer would be extended to rickshaws.
In addition to the petrol giveaway, Sheikh revealed plans to reduce electricity prices and provide up to 200 free electricity units to the public. He also pledged to cover all expenses for students from his constituency who secure admission to colleges or universities based on merit and announced a special gift for every girl on her wedding.
