Pakistani Embassy Confirms 10 Deaths in Morocco Migrant Boat Tragedy

The Pakistani Embassy in Rabat has confirmed the deaths of 10 Pakistani nationals in a tragic boat accident involving migrants off the coast of Morocco. The embassy issued a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that the bodies of 13 individuals have been found in a local hospital, with three of them being unidentifiable.
The incident occurred last month when a boat carrying migrants attempting to reach Spain from West Africa capsized, resulting in the deaths of 50 people. It was reported that 44 of the deceased were Pakistani nationals.
Following the incident, some survivors returned to Pakistan, where the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted inquiries. As a result, investigations into human traffickers have been initiated.
In response to the slow pace of investigations into boat accidents, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently removed the Director General of FIA, Ahmed Ishaq, from his position. The Prime Minister has issued strict instructions for faster actions against human traffickers.
