Islamabad:Renowned Pakistani actress Nimra Khan demonstrated remarkable courage by thwarting an attempted kidnapping. In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Khan revealed that she faced an attempted abduction at gunpoint, which she managed to escape.
In the emotional video, Khan expressed her distress, stating, “We are a living nation, but this video is not to highlight our greatness. What happened to me yesterday was terrifying. Would you want your daughter, wife, or sister to experience the same?”
She questioned whether anyone would feel comfortable sending their family members out safely in Pakistan, emphasizing, “No, you cannot send them out safely. I guarantee they are not safe here.” Khan also voiced her frustration about celebrating August 14th (Independence Day), highlighting the pain of experiencing such insecurity in the country.
Khan detailed the incident, explaining that while waiting for her car outside a hotel, three unknown individuals approached her and attempted to kidnap her, also harassing her. She described how the men brandished weapons and tried to pull her into their vehicle amidst a rainstorm.
In a moment of self-defense, Khan managed to push one of the attackers away and ran towards a passing car, where a family and hotel staff came to her aid. She pointed out that despite paying taxes, she felt unsafe and noted the reasons people hire security guards or choose to leave the country.
Following the release of Khan’s video, celebrities and social media users have expressed sympathy for her and urged the government to take action against those responsible for the kidnapping attempt.
