Pakistan to Consider Possible Meeting Request from US Ambassador, Foreign Office Says
Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson, Ms. Muzammil Zehra Baloch, stated that any potential meeting request from the US Ambassador to Prime Minister Imran Khan will be reviewed in accordance with Pakistani laws. During a weekly briefing on Saturday, the spokesperson emphasized that strict measures will be taken to ensure compliance with documentation requirements for individuals crossing into Pakistan from the Afghan border.
Ms. Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the Gaza conflict, highlighting the federal cabinet’s approval of a resolution condemning hostilities in Gaza and preparations underway to send another relief shipment to the area amidst logistical challenges due to the siege.
Regarding recent events, the spokesperson expressed gratitude for the German government’s full support and cooperation following the attack on the Pakistani consulate in Frankfurt, with Pakistani authorities collaborating closely with German officials in apprehending the perpetrators.
Ms. Baloch also mentioned the apprehension of Al-Qaeda member Amin-ul-Haq in March for illegally crossing the border, commending the role played by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). She added that efforts are underway for the retrieval and repatriation of three abducted Pakistanis in Myanmar (Burma).
