Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Warns Mobile Phone Users About Blocking of Devices
Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a warning to mobile phone users regarding the blocking of certain devices. PTA announced that, in an effort to prevent illegal activities, cloned or duplicate mobile devices will be blocked. The authority shared important instructions for device verification on social media platforms.
PTA advised users who receive a message from the PTA regarding their mobile device being cloned or duplicated to dial *#06# to verify their IMEI number. Users should compare their IMEI with the one mentioned in the PTA’s message. To avoid having their IMEI blocked, users must respond to the PTA’s message within seven days.
If the issue persists, PTA has instructed users to file a complaint via the PTA’s CMS on their website, providing complete proof of purchase and FBR tax payment.
