Pakistan Makes Significant Progress in Locally Producing Insulin

Pakistan has made a significant breakthrough in the local production of insulin. During a meeting in Islamabad with the Danish Ambassador, Jacob Linulf, Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, proposed importing the necessary raw materials to locally manufacture insulin.
Kamal highlighted that this step would increase local insulin production and reduce the country’s dependency on foreign imports for this essential medicine.
In response, the Danish Ambassador stated that the Danish government is planning to establish a local repackaging facility for insulin production in Pakistan. This initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan’s healthcare sector and ensure that people have access to basic medicines.
He further emphasized that one in every four children in Pakistan suffers from diabetes and obesity, and Denmark is committed to working in every possible way to combat these health issues.
