Pakistan Explores Ethanol Fuel Integration to Boost Local Auto Industry and Green Energy Initiatives

Pakistan is making efforts to innovate its automotive industry by integrating ethanol as a fuel, aiming to ensure compatibility with local vehicle engines and increase the use of domestically produced auto parts.
This initiative was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Industry and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, and Hiroshi Kawamura, CEO of Pak Suzuki Motors.
Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to bio-gas and electric vehicle projects, stating that both Pakistan and Japan could collaborate on new industrial opportunities, especially in the realm of green energy projects.
Pak Suzuki Motors is planning to establish a bio-gas plant near Manga Mandi, Lahore, contributing to Pakistan’s renewable energy goals. Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that Pakistan represents a significant market for Pak Suzuki and stressed the importance of further collaboration in the auto sector.
This initiative aligns with the government’s ‘Udaan’ vision, which focuses on environmentally friendly vehicles, and is another step towards strengthening industrial ties between Pakistan and Japan.
Hiroshi Kawamura congratulated Haroon Akhtar Khan on his new position and expressed hope for further economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.
