Pakistan Elected as Member of UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs for Four-Year Term

New York:Pakistan has been elected as a member of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) for a four-year term, from 2026 to 2029. The election took place during the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) elections in New York.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s UN Mission, the country expressed its gratitude for the support of the UN Economic and Social Council. The statement emphasized that Pakistan’s election to the CND reflects global trust and confidence in the country’s commitment to addressing the global drug problem.

Pakistan has been at the forefront of international anti-drug efforts, playing a significant role in combating drug trafficking, production, and abuse.
