Islamabad: The federal cabinet has approved a digital visa for citizens from 126 countries. Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif chaired a federal cabinet meeting where six agenda items were deliberated.
The cabinet has granted approval for a digital visa for citizens of 126 countries. Pakistan will offer visa-free entry for business and tourist purposes to nationals of these countries. The Ministry of Interior has been directed to finalize the details in this regard.
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating ease of doing business, praising the Ministry of Interior and relevant authorities for a significant overhaul in the visa regime. Under the new policy, traders, travelers, and tourists from these 126 countries will not be charged visa fees, aiming to boost foreign investment and make Pakistan a more attractive destination.
“This is a major decision,” he said, extending congratulations to all involved. Visas will be obtainable within 24 hours via an electronic platform.
