Pakistan and Bangladesh Set to Hold Political Consultative Meeting to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD/DHAKA:Pakistan** and **Bangladesh** are taking a significant step toward strengthening their bilateral relations with an upcoming political consultative meeting scheduled for **April 17** in **Dhaka**, the capital of Bangladesh. This marks the first such meeting in 13 years, as the last political consultative session took place in **2012**.

Sources indicate that **Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary**, **Amina Baloch**, will represent Pakistan at the meeting. The discussions will focus on enhancing institutionalized ties between the two countries, with a proposal to bring their bilateral relations onto a more structured path. The meeting will also include discussions about the restoration of the **Joint Ministerial Commission**, which is expected to play a vital role in furthering bilateral cooperation.

Following the political consultative meeting, **Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister**, **Ishaq Dar**, is scheduled to visit Bangladesh from **April 22 to 24**. The visit will aim to further promote **economic** and **political** relations between the two nations through continued dialogue and cooperation.

This series of engagements, including the consultative meeting and the planned visit, signals a promising enhancement of diplomatic ties between **Pakistan** and **Bangladesh**, fostering deeper cooperation across multiple sectors.
