Over 25 Million Pilgrims and Worshippers Visit Masjid al-Haram in First Ten Days of Ramadan

Makkah: During the first ten days of Ramadan, over 25 million worshippers and visitors have arrived at Masjid al-Haram. According to Saudi media, more than 5.5 million people have also performed Umrah during this period.

In light of the growing number of worshippers, the General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has released updated figures and outlined new arrangements for managing the influx. Over 11,000 staff members have been deployed to maintain order in the courtyards and walkways of Masjid al-Haram. Additionally, 350 Saudi supervisors oversee 4,000 workers responsible for cleaning the mosque five times a day.

These workers also assist in guiding visitors to the Tawaf (circumambulation) areas, while ensuring that all safety measures are in place. For the convenience of millions of visitors, 20,000 Zamzam water dispensers have been installed throughout the mosque.

Furthermore, one of the world’s largest cooling systems has been installed in Masjid al-Haram, with a total capacity of 155,000 tons, to ensure the comfort of worshippers during their stay.
