Outrage and Support Follows Footage of Alleged Domestic Violence Against TV Host Ayesha Jehanzaib
Islamabad:After footage of apparent domestic violence against Ayesha Jehanzaib by her husband surfaced, prominent political and social figures in the country, along with social media users, have come out in support of the well-known TV host and actress.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, former First Lady Reham Khan, actress Huma Qureshi, and other important personalities have strongly condemned the alleged domestic violence by Ayesha Jehanzaib’s husband, demanding exemplary punishment for him.
Ayesha Jehanzaib has been associated with the media and showbiz industry for some time, having acted in dramas such as “Jannat Se Aage” and “Romeo Juliet on Bronze Road.”
Ayesha Jehanzaib, currently viral on social media, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband, Haris Ali, who she has two children with, after visiting the police station with her daughter Zoha, despite her injured face. In an interview, Ayesha Jehanzaib revealed that this was the third time her husband had brutally beaten her in the past six months. She disclosed that the root cause of their disagreements was her husband’s second secret marriage.
Political and social figures, as well as social media users, have openly come forward in support of Ayesha Jehanzaib, hailing her as a courageous woman who has endured such domestic violence and misconduct for some time.
Hania Pervez Butt wrote on the social contact website ‘X.com’ that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has promptly taken notice of the violence against famous anchorperson Ayesha Jehanzaib by her husband and demanded his immediate arrest.
They also shared images of news running on TV, in which Maryam Nawaz said that women are my ‘red line’ and domestic or working women should not tolerate violence.
Maryam Nawaz has also taken a report from IG Punjab after immediately taking notice of the violence against Ayesha Jehanzaib.
