Opposition Protest Disrupts Parliamentary Session, Turning House Into Fish Market

The joint session of Parliament turned chaotic due to opposition protests, creating a scene reminiscent of a “fish market.” The session was called by President Asif Ali Zardari on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Speaking to the media at Parliament House, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the government had included eight bills in the agenda, and his party would not be participating in today’s proceedings.
The joint session, which started about an hour late, saw the opposition leader requesting to speak on a point of order. However, the Speaker did not grant the request.
In response to the Speaker’s refusal, opposition members stood up and began protesting in their seats, raising slogans against the PICA Act.
As the opposition continued their protest, the session descended into chaos, with the House resembling a fish market. Despite the disruption, the Speaker continued with the proceedings, and the government’s legislative agenda remained on track.
