Opposition Leader Umar Ayub Accuses PML-N of Widening Gap Between Military and Public

Islamabad: Opposition Leader Umar Ayub has stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is clearly the most popular in the country. He criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for allegedly exacerbating the divide between the military and the public.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Ayub highlighted a recent meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, who expressed condolences over the death of Ismail Haniyeh. Ayub criticized Western nations for not acknowledging the ongoing violence in Gaza, calling for a unified international effort to establish peace in Palestine. He also condemned Israel’s actions and urged stronger intervention.
Ayub announced a significant PTI rally scheduled for August 5th at 4 PM in Swabi, hosted by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. He reaffirmed PTI’s status as the most popular party in Pakistan and accused the PML-N of deepening the rift between the military and the people.
In his remarks, Ayub also criticized Justice Qazi Faez Isa, suggesting that he should not be hearing cases related to PTI, and called for the Chief Justice to either handle the Toshakhana case himself or assign it to another judge. He alleged that despite having release orders for political detainees, including Bushra Bibi, their release was not executed.
Furthermore, Ayub claimed that PTI’s social media team had been detained, with accusations against Rauf Hasan related to explosives found in the PTI office. He also alleged that secret agencies had assaulted PTI MNA Haji Imtiaz and detained him on corruption charges.
