Rawalpindi: Addressing media outside Adiala Jail, opposition leader Omar Ayub expressed strong criticism against the current government, declaring, “This government has gone mad; we will regain our seats.” He emphasized that no one can impose restrictions on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), despite recent Supreme Court rulings affirming PTI’s political legitimacy.
Ayub, alongside other opposition leaders, disclosed a recent meeting with PTI’s founder, who affirmed a commitment to continue the struggle for real freedom. He highlighted rising prices of essential commodities and alleged corruption in government dealings, citing instances of massive wheat imports and profiteering through privatization schemes.
“PTI’s founder has instructed us to organize,” Ayub stated, accusing jail authorities of obstruction during their meeting and expressing concern over political vendettas by intelligence agencies. He demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner and all commissioners, proposing Article 6 against them.
Ayub concluded by announcing plans for a rally in Islamabad, warning against actions that could harm Pakistan’s political unity. Meanwhile, PTI’s officials have not yet responded to Ayub’s accusations.
