Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Accuses Government of Fear Over Imran Khan’s Cases
Lahore: Ahmed Khan , the opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, has expressed concerns that the PML-N is fearful following the resolution of Imran Khan’s cases. Speaking to the media, Bhutto dismissed their claims, stating, “Uncle, your days are numbered. You have stolen the people’s votes and emerged from Form 47. You fear the conclusion of Imran Khan’s cases.”
Bhutto further added, “I would tell those in power to show mercy on this country. Ataullah Tarar has imposed restrictions on our party. We will file a reference; this should not be under the Election Commissioner.” Maryam Nawaz remarked, “We won’t go back to the days before 5 years. The negligent government of the past 2 years was also yours. Do you understand that the people elected you? You are attacking institutions. You physically attacked the Supreme Court.”
The opposition in the provincial assembly stated, “We condemn these statements by PTI. We received a vote for Imran Khan’s release. We met with PPP founder Bani and are determined. We will hold a meeting on August 14. The first session will be in Islamabad and the second in Lahore.”
