Omar Ayub Claims Massive Public Support for PTI’s Protest, Targets Islamabad
Islamabad:Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub has expressed that the enthusiasm and fervor witnessed during the ongoing protests are unprecedented in Pakistan’s history. He stated that people have answered Imran Khan’s call with overwhelming support.
Speaking to the media, Omar Ayub announced that PTI’s caravans were set to begin their journey, with additional groups from Abbottabad and Mansehra joining along the way. He emphasized that the party’s supporters are fired up, ready to stand against what he described as “fascism.” He reiterated that PTI’s sole mission is to have their demands met, with the release of Imran Khan being a central demand.
“Our target is Islamabad,” he stated, declaring that the government’s actions — including blocking roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi — have played into the hands of PTI’s protest strategy. He said, “The government cutting off Islamabad and Rawalpindi from the rest of the country is our victory. Flights are affected, motorways are blocked under the pretext of repairs, and everything has been paralyzed.”
Today, on 24th November, PTI’s protest call has led to the suspension of daily life in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Major roads, public transport services, and the Faiz Interchange have been shut down, with law enforcement agencies on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents.
Omar Ayub’s remarks underscore the escalating tension as PTI prepares for a prolonged protest, focusing its efforts on bringing the capital to a standstill in pursuit of its political objectives.
