Oil Spill from Pakistan Refinery Pipeline in Clifton Spreads to Residential Area
Karachi: An oil spill occurred in Clifton after a pipeline from Pakistan Refinery ruptured on the Service Road near Clifton’s Sea View. The spilled furnace oil spread across the road and reached nearby residential buildings.
According to the police, the pumping of oil from the affected pipeline has been halted, and efforts are underway to clean up the oil spill. Workers are spreading soil on the road to absorb and dry up the oil.
Authorities have stated that several other company pipelines run through this area, and excavation work has begun to assess the extent of the damage. A full assessment of the impact will only be possible once the digging is completed.
