Islamabad: The federal government has issued a notification for a jail trial for the new reference concerning Toosha Khana. The notification, issued under Section 16-B of the NAB Ordinance 1999, informs the legal representatives of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz and her spouse.
According to the notification, based on the current law and order situation, if deemed necessary by the NAB court, the trial of Maryam Nawaz and her spouse in the corruption case may proceed in jail. It should be noted that both were arrested in the NAB case yesterday after being acquitted in another case.
According to NAB sources, Maryam Nawaz and her spouse were arrested in the new Toosha Khana reference, where they allegedly obtained gifts from Toosha Khana at lower prices and later sold them at higher rates.
