New Twist in Sexual Harassment Case Against Cricketer Babar Azam, Hearing Adjourned
Lahore: A new development has emerged in the case where cricketer Babar Azam is accused of sexual harassment by a woman. The hearing on Babar Azam’s appeal against the decision of an Additional Sessions Judge has been adjourned until December 12 without any further proceedings.
Details reveal that the woman had accused Babar Azam of harassment and blackmailing, claims which the cricketer denies. Babar Azam had filed the petition in 2021, seeking to challenge the Additional Sessions Judge’s ruling, which had instructed the registration of a case against him.
Babar Azam’s legal team argued that the allegations made by the woman were baseless and aimed at tarnishing his reputation. The petition also claimed that the Additional Sessions Judge had made an erroneous decision, as the accusations were unfounded and intended to defame the cricketer.
The court, after hearing the petitioner’s lawyer’s request for adjournment, postponed the proceedings until December 12 for further examination of the case.
