New Scandal Unfolds in Punjab: 310 Vehicles Purchased Illegally During PTI’s Tenure
Lahore: A new scandal has emerged involving the illegal purchase of 310 vehicles during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Punjab. According to sources from a private TV channel, Aaj News, during PTI’s rule, government vehicles worth over 2.12 billion Pakistani Rupees were bought without any official approval.
The report reveals that the purchases were made without seeking approval from any forum, including the Board of Directors. Astonishingly, advance payments were made for these vehicles, which raises further questions about the legality of the transactions.
The vehicles were purchased for the Solid Waste Management Company, but the decision regarding the procurement of these 310 vehicles remains unclear. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has now called for investigations into the matter and has summoned the relevant officials to look into the illegal purchases.
