New Cases Filed Against Imran Khan for September 28 Protest
Rawalpindi: Two new cases have been registered against former Prime Minister Imran Khan in connection with the protests that took place on September 28. The cases were filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), specifically Section 7, and also named Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
According to the text of the complaints, Khan allegedly incited his supporters to protest against national institutions while calling for demonstrations from Adiala Jail.
The cases were registered by New Town and Civil Lines police stations and include charges of attempted murder and terrorism, as well as violations of Section 144, which prohibits unlawful assembly.
The Punjab government has accused Khan of criticizing national institutions, inciting violence, and engaging in property damage and stone-pelting.
