Quetta: Nawabzada BNP-M leader and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawabzada Aslam Raisani, shared President Asif Ali Zardari’s statement on the social media website “X,” expressing concerns over the taxation policies affecting landlords directly and indirectly. He emphasized that landlords are already paying significant taxes on agricultural produce such as wheat, sugarcane, bananas, and fisheries, along with charges on services, diesel, and others. He warned that imposing additional taxes on the agricultural sector would lead to its destruction, exacerbating unemployment. He strongly opposed further taxation and highlighted President Asif Ali Zardari’s assertion that the IMF’s conditionality requires taxing large landlords.
