Quetta:Nawab Mir Aali Bugti, head of the Bugti tribe, has expressed deep concern over ongoing injustices and corruption in Balochistan, describing them as an unending cycle. He lamented that through conspiracies, highly incompetent and corrupt representatives have been imposed upon the people of Balochistan, exacerbating political crises and increasing the suffering of already marginalized communities.
Bugti highlighted a growing sense of unrest and uncertainty among the Baloch people, accusing inept and corrupt officials of plundering the resources meant for Balochistan’s development. He criticized the suppression of educated Baloch youth who raise their voices against injustices, often forcibly disappeared and sometimes found dead under suspicious circumstances.
In a strongly-worded statement, Bugti emphasized that instead of providing justice, authorities respond with batons and violence, even disrespecting Baloch mothers, sisters, and elder women, which he deemed unacceptable and against Baloch traditions.
Bugti also criticized the current selected government representatives for being oblivious to Balochi culture and traditions, focused only on filling their pockets through corruption. He warned against any military operations in Balochistan, stating they would only inflame the situation further.
Bugti asserted that the Baloch people are denied their right to choose their true leaders and make decisions about their future. He praised the Baloch Unity Committee for becoming a strong voice for the oppressed Baloch tribes across Balochistan.
Bugti concluded by reaffirming that organizing a peaceful gathering, as planned by the committee on July 28th in Gwadar, is their constitutional and legal right. He warned that obstructing or suppressing such gatherings would only demonstrate incompetence and exacerbate hatred among the Baloch people.
