National Party Leaders Criticize Parliamentary Representation and Local Issues in Balochistan
Khuzdar:National Party central committee member and district president Abdul Hamid Advocate, Provincial Cultural Secretary Mir Ashraf Ali Mengal, and former Khuzdar Mayor Mir Abdul Rahim Kurd have expressed strong criticism regarding the current state of parliamentary representation and local issues in Balochistan. They claimed that parliamentary representation has been unjustly taken from the National Party and given to individuals disconnected from the public, leading to a severe and concerning situation in the province.
During a press conference at the Khuzdar Press Club, the leaders highlighted the serious issue of missing persons and called for negotiations rather than force to address the problem. They also emphasized the need to ensure freedom of expression and expedite the appointment of successful candidates from the recent education department tests.
The leaders criticized recent operations against encroachments in Khuzdar’s markets, describing them as unfortunate. They noted that during the National Party’s tenure, they had successfully developed the city’s infrastructure and established educational institutions like Shaheed Sikandar University, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University, and Jhalawan Medical College. However, they lamented that funding for these projects, particularly for Jhalawan Medical College, had been halted, and the completion of the institutions remained incomplete.
The National Party officials also condemned the use of force against traders and vendors in Khuzdar and expressed concerns over increasing load shedding and worsening traffic conditions. They accused the current government of failing to address these issues effectively.
The leaders called for policymakers to consider positive pathways for the people, adopt a dialogue-based approach instead of using force, and ensure the protection of freedom of expression. They pledged that the National Party would stand with the people of Balochistan and continue to use all democratic and constitutional means to protest and address these issues.
