National Party Criticizes Alleged Misuse of Funds and Calls for Inquiry into Belida Incident
Quetta:Senator Jan Muhammad Bilehdi, Secretary General of the National Party, has denounced the alleged embezzlement of funds in Belida, labeling it as the third installment of a dramatic scheme. He accused contractors and their associates of using deceptive tactics to conceal their incompetence and embezzle national resources.
Bilehdi criticized the burning of contractor machinery in Belida as a staged distraction, asserting that it is a failed attempt to cover up corruption. He highlighted the misuse of funds allocated for the Belida Road and related projects, noting that despite receiving mobilization funds for various roads, work has yet to commence. He called for an inquiry into these incidents and urged the Balochistan government to take notice and investigate.
Addressing the impact on cross-border trade, Bilehdi condemned the government’s interference which he claimed is pushing businesses to the brink of collapse. He rejected the token system and any exclusion of genuine business names from lists.
Furthermore, Bilehdi announced that the National Party’s Central Committee has decided to hold the National Congress from October 26 to 29, 2024, in Quetta. He instructed all district organizations to prepare for the central congress and council sessions, emphasizing that no changes would be made to the lists of central and council members. District organizations must finalize their lists by October 15 and make necessary arrangements for expenses. Additionally, visiting committees have been formed to tour designated regions for organizational assessments.
