Quetta:The Central Secretary General of the National Party, Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi, has strongly condemned the placement of barriers during the Baloch Unity Committee’s public gathering in Gwadar, affirming the constitutional and legal right to peaceful political protest. The party vehemently criticized any attempts to obstruct such demonstrations, asserting that everyone has the right to peacefully voice their political demands.
Senator Buledi urged the government of Balochistan and its administrations, including in Gwadar, to refrain from placing any obstacles in front of peaceful protests and to allow the public the freedom to exercise their rights where deemed appropriate. The National Party and its central leadership firmly support Balochistan’s political and national rights, advocating for governance by democracy and rule of law.
He highlighted the grave situation of missing persons in Balochistan, emphasizing that federal and provincial governments have not shown sincere efforts to resolve this serious issue. Senator Buledi underscored the need to resolve Balochistan’s issues through political negotiations rather than coercive measures, warning of potentially dire consequences otherwise.
The establishment of weak governments in Balochistan has further complicated matters, depriving the people of their right to vote and perpetuating a cycle of unfavorable electoral practices. The National Party condemned any actions aimed at exacerbating conditions through blockades during protests, asserting that such governmental maneuvers severely undermine the democratic and political rights of the people.
Senator Buledi called for the safe return of missing persons and appealed to the Baloch Unity Committee’s leadership to maintain peace and record their protests in a peaceful and democratic manner.
