NAB’s Decision on Mustafa Kamal’s Reference Hearing Reserved

Karachi: The Accountability Court has reserved its decision on NAB’s request to reinstate the reference concerning alleged illegal allotment of government land in Clifton against MQM leader Syed Mustafa Kamal and others.
Former Karachi mayor and MQM leader Syed Mustafa Kamal appeared before the court in relation to the Clifton government land allotment reference. Mustafa Kamal’s lawyer, Hasan Sabir Advocate, maintained that there were no allegations of financial gain against his client.
During discussions with the prosecutor, the court noted that according to Supreme Court rulings, the reference might not be sustainable unless there is evidence of financial benefit to the accused individual, as required by law.
The court emphasized that incompetence cannot be overlooked and adhered to legal principles, excluding personal biases. Various policies were adopted in this reference, including Dr. Asim, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and others.
The court has reserved its decision on NAB’s plea to reinstate the reference, with the final verdict scheduled for August 26th.
