Muslim Man Killed in Uttar Pradesh for Refusing to Play Holi

Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, India:A Muslim man, identified as 53-year-old Mohammad Sharif, was brutally killed in the city of Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, for refusing to participate in the celebration of Holi. The incident occurred two weeks ago when a group of extremists assaulted Sharif after he declined to allow them to smear Holi colors on him.

Initially, the police attributed his death to a heart attack. However, Sharif’s family rejected this claim and staged a protest by placing his body on the road, demanding justice. In response, the police filed a case against the victim’s family rather than investigating the matter further.

The police’s actions have drawn strong criticism from opposition parties, who are calling for the accountability of those responsible for this tragic incident and for ensuring justice for Mohammad Sharif’s family.
