Islamabad:Several individuals have been arrested in the city of Leeds, UK, following a disturbance.
According to British media reports, local sources indicate that two days ago, an altercation occurred between local authorities and children at a local institution in Leeds. When police and social care officials arrived and moved the children and others involved to a secure location, unrest began.
Authorities transferred children to social care, which sparked unrest within the community. Subsequently, it was confirmed that this was a family matter.
Reports state that during the transfer of children to social care in Harehills, demonstrators set fire to a double-decker bus, overturned a police car, and threw objects at the police. However, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities as a result of the incidents so far.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has condemned the rioting, while Home Secretary Priti Patel has stated that law enforcement will deal with the rioters with full force of the law.
