MQM-P Leaders Assert Ownership of London Properties and Propose Foundation for Martyrs
Islamabad:Leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have asserted their claim to the properties owned by the party in London, stating that the properties rightfully belong to MQM-P and that martyrs have a stake in them.
In a press conference, MQM-P leaders Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Farooq Sattar emphasized that MQM-P began its struggle for Pakistan’s honor on August 22, 2016. They addressed the ongoing dispute over the properties of MQM’s former leadership in London, noting that the former leadership is creating the impression of success in their claims.
The leaders clarified that MQM-P is the rightful owner of the London properties, rejecting claims by others. They criticized the handling of six properties, alleging that the martyrs’ properties are being misappropriated and should not end up in anyone’s personal possession.
Siddiqui and Sattar proposed establishing a Martyrs Foundation to manage the London properties and use them for charitable purposes. They stressed that since severing ties with London on August 23, 2016, MQM-P has had no further discussions with the former leadership.
Siddiqui challenged the former leadership to send a representative from London if they truly care about the martyrs, asserting that MQM-P will prove its ownership of the properties.
Siddiqui concluded by asserting that MQM-P is the registered party with the Election Commission, and it is their responsibility to safeguard these properties as a trust.
