MPA Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch Criticizes Government for Neglecting Gwadar’s Communication Issues

Quetta:MPA Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, the Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and leader of the Haq Do Tehreek, has criticized the government for its handling of Gwadar’s recent communication crisis. He described the city as having been turned into a “prison” over the past two weeks, with mobile networks shut down, roads blocked, and essential supplies running out.

In a statement to journalists and during meetings with delegations in Gwadar, Baloch lamented the lack of political consideration in decision-making processes. He expressed frustration that despite the government’s promise to restore mobile networks within an hour of the announcement to end the protests, the services remain disrupted.

Baloch argued that the city’s development and the success of the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) initiative are hindered by the lack of modern communication systems. He emphasized the need for sincere and committed leadership to include the public in the progress and prosperity journey. According to him, issues cannot be resolved by non-elected officials, and there must be immediate actions to restore mobile networks, open roads, and ensure freedom of travel for the people of Gwadar and Balochistan.
