Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch Criticizes Government’s Silence on Balochistan’s Issues, Announces National Consultation for December 29
Quetta:MPA and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has strongly criticized the federal government, powerful institutions, and the provincial government for their “criminal silence” on the pressing national and social issues facing Balochistan. He lamented that the voice of Balochistan is going unheard, while the provincial assembly remains powerless and the federal government is busy with internal political battles, particularly with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch expressed that the people of Balochistan are left in a state of confusion and distress. “Our children are missing, corruption and lawlessness are rampant, youth are worried about employment, and the public is concerned for their safety, but no one is taking responsibility,” he stated. He added that despite the numerous challenges, the government remains indifferent to the problems faced by the people of Balochistan.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader announced that following the All Parties Conference (APC), the party will be organizing a **National Consultation of Tribal Leaders and Elders** on **December 29** to create a unified plan of action for addressing the issues faced by the people of Balochistan. The consultation will aim to bring together political, tribal, and religious leaders to form a united front to demand their rights, including the recovery of missing persons, employment, resources, and the resolution of issues related to the border trade and coastal businesses.
He criticized the government’s handling of the region’s economy, stating, “The closure of businesses and border trade has worsened the situation in Balochistan, and young people are increasingly facing economic hardship.” He also condemned the government for its failure to address the growing problem of drug trafficking in the province, which he said is destroying the youth. “Balochistan is being treated like a stepchild. The abundance of drugs and the lack of obstacles for drug dealers are ruining our future generations,” he remarked.
He pointed out the tragic case of **Mansoor Kakar**, whose disappearance has been largely ignored, describing the situation as deeply concerning. “The disappearance of our people is a serious issue, and we demand that the authorities address it. The case of Mansoor Kakar remains unresolved, and the authorities seem to have put it in cold storage,” he added.
Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch declared that the political, tribal, and religious leadership of Balochistan would unite to launch a struggle for the legitimate rights of the people. “If the government and the powerful institutions fail to address our problems, including corruption, extortion, and the disappearance of our loved ones, we will hold a massive demonstration in Quetta in March, bringing together one hundred thousand people to force the government to grant us our rights,” he warned.
He concluded by stressing the importance of collective action, stating, “Through mutual consultation, we will pave the way for resolving the problems of our people. We will work together to free the nation from its issues and make informed decisions for the future.”
