Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch Calls for Action to Protect Marine Life and Fishermen’s Livelihoods

Quetta: The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Chairman of the Haq Do Tehreek, MPA Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, has called for immediate action from the Fisheries Department and its officers to protect marine life and the livelihoods of fishermen, urging them to take decisive steps against the illegal activities of trawler mafias. He emphasized that these mafias must be put to an end to ensure the sustainability of the local fishing industry.
During his visit to the Fisheries Office in Gwadar, Social Welfare Office, and the Haq Do Tehreek’s low-cost stalls, Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch expressed concern over rising inflation and commended the initiative of Haq Do Tehreek’s affordable stalls in providing inexpensive food items during the holy month of Ramadan. He encouraged philanthropists to support the needy by contributing to these efforts.
He also urged government employees to be dedicated to their duties, serving the public honestly and making it a priority to address the issues faced by the people, in accordance with Allah’s will.
Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman further stated that his doors, along with those of his offices, remain open 24 hours a day for the public, offering service and accountability. He expressed regret over the current state of the government, saying it was neither free nor accountable, and vowed to work towards alleviating the difficulties faced by the people.
In his visit to the Fisheries Office, he also held discussions with the newly appointed Director General of Fisheries, Mr. Mutaza Khetran, highlighting the need for strict measures to prevent illegal trawlers, proper numbering of vessels, and to combat extortion in the sector.
Other notable attendees at the event included Hafeez Kiyazai, the organizer of Haq Do Tehreek Balochistan, PA to MPA Wasim Samad, and Fisheries Officer Ahmad Nadeem, among other officials.
